MANILA, Philippines — Actress Andi Eigenmann clarified that she and her husband Philmar Alipayo are not forcing their children Lilo and Koa to surf.
In her Instagram story, Andi made a remark after social media users expressed concern over her children’s safety.
“‘Hala baka mahulog’ — of course the fall, sometimes they try and fail, and as hard as it is for me as a mom, sometimes they also get hurt,” she said.
“But that’s part of it. Otherwise there is no growth. This is probably why, when they do get it, the stoke feels tenfold,” she added.
She also underscored that Lilo and Koa are well-versed in water sports.
“They don’t panic because they understand the process, and more importantly, they choose to do this. No one is forcing them,” she said.
“If they didn’t want it, they wouldn’t paddle back out. But they do. Every time,” she added.
