If you didn’t know Bank of America had a travel portal, you’re probably not alone. The Bank of America Travel Center doesn’t get nearly as much attention as travel portals from issuers like Chase, Capital One and Citi.
But there’s more to BofA Travel than you might expect, including plenty of ways to book travel and use your rewards. Here’s how the portal works and what to know before you book.
What is the Bank of America Travel Center?
The Bank of America Travel Center — which you’ll see referred to as BofA Travel within the booking experience — lets eligible cardholders book flights, hotels, rental cars and activities.
Bank of America revamped the Travel Center in July 2026. The new portal, powered by Rocket Travel by Agoda, significantly expanded the selection of hotels, flights, rental cars and activities available to book.
The update wasn’t just cosmetic. Now, the portal has better search and filtering tools, more detailed hotel information and the ability to mix and match airlines on round-trip bookings. Eligible cardholders can even combine rewards with a credit or debit card payment.
Who can access the Bank of America Travel Center?
Exactly what you can do in the Travel Center depends on which Bank of America card is in your wallet. Some cardholders can book travel and redeem rewards through the portal, while others can only make paid bookings. How you access the Travel Center varies by card, too.
Here’s what access currently looks like for eligible personal Bank of America cards:
The information for the BankAmericard Rewards credit card and Bank of America Premium Rewards Elite credit card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

How to use the Bank of America Travel Center
Once you’re in BofA Travel, here’s what to expect when making a booking.
How to book flights through the Bank of America Travel Center
To search for flights, enter your origin, destination, travel dates and number of travelers. BofA Travel supports one-way, round-trip and multicity searches, and you can search by economy, premium economy, business or first class.
Once your results load, you can filter your options and compare flights from more than 170 airlines. On round-trip itineraries, your outbound and return flights don’t need to be on the same carrier.

Each flight includes a tab with baggage information and a link to the airline’s baggage policies. Pay close attention to the fare you’re selecting, since restrictions and included benefits vary by fare type.

There can be some airline-specific quirks, too. When I selected a Frontier Airlines flight, BofA Travel warned me that the flight would be managed directly by Frontier and that I’d need to contact the airline for any changes or assistance after booking.

You also can’t select your seat before booking, at least for the airlines I tested, which included Frontier, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. Each time, the booking page told me I’d need to contact the airline for seat selection.
Don’t forget to add your frequent flyer number during booking, since flights booked through BofA Travel can still earn airline miles and elite-qualifying credits based on the airline’s fare rules.
Once you’ve entered your information and reviewed your flight and fare details, select “Continue to payment” to finish booking.
How to book hotels through the Bank of America Travel Center
To search for a hotel, select “Hotels” and enter your destination, travel dates and number of travelers. Then hit “Search hotels.”

There are more than half a million properties available worldwide, ranging from traditional hotels to apartments, hostels and other accommodations. So, whether you’re looking for a five-star hotel, a budget stay or something with more space, you’ll probably find an option that fits.
Once your results load, you’ll see a surprisingly extensive list of filters. You can narrow properties by neighborhood, star and guest ratings, amenities, bed type, hotel brand and proximity to popular attractions. There are also filters for specific room offers, such as free cancellation or included breakfast.

For example, when I searched for a stay in Paris, I could narrow my results to specific neighborhoods like the Champs-Élysées, Montmartre and the area around the Louvre. I could even filter by nearby attractions, such as the Arc de Triomphe or Palais Garnier.
Search results show both the cash and points price for eligible cardholders. For example, the Hotel Du Louvre, Part Of Hyatt, was listed for $646 or 61,842 points plus $27.
On the final booking page, BofA Travel breaks down the total price, including any taxes and fees or amounts due at the property. You can also review the room details and cancellation policy before continuing to payment.
How to book rental cars through the Bank of America Travel Center
To search for a rental car, enter your pickup and drop-off locations, dates and times, as well as the driver’s age.

Once your results load, you can filter by pickup location, rental agency, vehicle type and transmission.
Eligible cardholders will see both the cash and points cost in the search results. In the searches I tried, that price stayed the same all the way through checkout.

That’s a nicer feature than it might sound. I’ve booked plenty of one-way rental cars where the drop-off fee wasn’t shown during booking, or I wasn’t even warned there would be one. Seeing that cost upfront makes it much easier to know what you’ll actually pay.
Before paying for your reservation, you can (and should) review the rental company’s policies by opening the “Read agency policies” tab. This includes important information about age and payment requirements, deposits, insurance, additional drivers and other rental-specific rules.
Cancellation and payment policies vary by reservation; for example, one rate I checked was nonrefundable, nontransferable and couldn’t be changed.
How to book activities through the Bank of America Travel Center
Activities and experiences are available through the portal, too. Just search by city or attraction to see what’s available.
From there, you can browse tours, transportation, attractions, experiences, food and travel essentials. You can also filter results by price, star rating, duration and category or sort them by popularity, price or rating.

Select an activity to see the available booking options and more detailed information, including departure and return details, what to expect, additional information and the cancellation policy.
Pay attention to how each activity is priced. For example, the private Paris airport transfer I looked at was priced for up to two people rather than per person, and the displayed price included all taxes and fees.
How to redeem rewards through the Bank of America Travel Center
Eligible cardholders can redeem Bank of America rewards toward bookings through BofA Travel. You don’t need enough rewards to cover the entire cost, either. You can pay with rewards, combine rewards with a credit or debit card or pay entirely by card. Bank of America says these redemption options vary by card and will expand over time.
BofA Rewards points are worth at least 1 cent each when redeemed through BofA Travel. That means 50,000 points would cover at least $500 in flights, hotels, rental cars or activities. However, some cardholders can get even more value from their points.
For example, the Premium Rewards Elite carries a hefty $550 annual fee, but if you’re a frequent BofA Travel user, you can make up some ground with one particularly valuable perk: a 20% discount when redeeming points for airfare. For example, a $1,000 flight that would normally require 100,000 points costs just 80,000 points — a value of 1.25 cents per point.
The discount also applies to the portion of airfare paid with points when you combine points and a card payment.
Should you book through the Bank of America Travel Center?
There are some good reasons to book through BofA Travel. But the portal won’t make sense for every booking — and depending on how you travel, one of the best travel rewards credit cards from another issuer could potentially offer more value.
When it makes sense to book through the BofA Travel Center
Consider booking through BofA Travel when:
- You want to redeem BofA Rewards points for travel. Eligible cardholders can use points toward flights, hotels, rental cars and activities, or combine points with a credit or debit card payment.
- You have the Premium Rewards Elite card. Cardholders get a 20% points discount when redeeming rewards for airfare through BofA Travel.
- Your card earns bonus rewards through the Travel Center. Some Bank of America cards offer elevated earning rates on eligible Travel Center purchases.
- You’re booking an independent hotel. You won’t be giving up chain-specific hotel points, elite-night credits or elite benefits by booking through a third-party portal.
- The price and booking terms are competitive. If BofA Travel has the same or a better price than booking directly, using the portal can make sense — especially if you’re also earning bonus rewards or redeeming points.
When booking directly may be better
Before booking, do a quick price check with the airline, hotel or rental car company directly. BofA Travel won’t always have the lowest rate, and there’s no reason to spend more just to book through the portal.
Be especially careful with chain hotels. Because BofA Travel is a third-party booking platform, you’ll give up hotel points, elite-night credits and elite benefits by booking through the portal. An independent hotel, on the other hand, is a safer bet since you won’t be sacrificing those loyalty perks.
Finally, check the change and cancellation terms before paying. As I found while testing the portal, these can vary significantly by booking. Some reservations were nonrefundable, and some flights had to be managed directly with the airline after booking.

Earning rewards on BofA Travel bookings
The rewards you’ll earn on BofA Travel bookings depend on which Bank of America card you use:
BofA Rewards™ can make these rates even better. Depending on your tier, you can get a 10% to 75% rewards bonus on eligible Bank of America cards.
Bottom line
BofA Travel may not get as much attention as other credit card travel portals, but there’s plenty to like about the revamped booking experience. It’s especially useful for Premium Rewards Elite cardholders, who get a 20% points discount on airfare.
Just compare prices and booking terms before you book to make sure BofA Travel is the best option for your trip.
