Breeders’ Cup odds have hit the board with the Triple Crown races behind us, and Sovereignty is favored to take down the $7 million Breeders’ Cup Classic.
He’ll make his next start in Saturday’s Stephen Foster Stakes at Churchill Downs, where he’s expected to take on White Abarrio, Baeza, and Magnitude.
Let’s take a look at the latest Breeders’ Cup odds for 2026, with Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, KY playing host on October 30-31.
Odds to win Breeders’ Cup Classic 2026
| Horse | My Take | |
|---|---|---|
| Sovereignty | +400 | Won 2 of 3 TC races in ’25, but OP H’cap loss concerns. |
| Nysos | +700 | Impressed in romp vs. deep Met Mile field. |
| Magnitude | +700 | Dubai WC wnr on three-race streak. |
| Forever Young | +700 | Defending champ aging like fine wine. |
| White Abarrio | +1000 | Tough on best day, like in OP H’cap. |
| Golden Tempo | +1200 | Silenced doubters in Belmont S. |
| Journalism | +1200 | Has lost four straight; best days behind him? |
| Commandment | +1600 | FL Derby champ gritty 2nd in Belmont S. |
| Baeza | +1600 | 2-for-10 record after Alysheba S. loss. |
| Renegade | +2000 | Disappointing run in Belmont S. |

Breeders’ Cup prep predictions: Stephen Foster Stakes
Magnitude seems to be getting a little overlooked in his return to the states. With all due respect to Kentucky Derby and Belmont winner Sovereignty, as well as White Abarrio (the horse that beat Sovereignty last time out), I am glad to take this price on the Dubai World Cup winner.
Magnitude suffered from inconsistency early in his career for Steve Asmussen, but the talent was always there, like when he romped in the 2025 Risen Star Stakes.
He’s won three straight, all graded stakes, beating reigning Breeders’ Cup Classic champ Forever Young in the process in Dubai.
So long as Magnitude is +200 or better, he’s the bet.
Pick: Magnitude to win the Stephen Foster (+350 at bet365)
