If you were to have glanced at my phone during Dolce & Gabbana’s spring 2027 show in Milan today, you would’ve caught me Googling “flight to Sicily ASAP.” The lights in the venue were low, projectors were displaying bird’s-eye views of pristine beaches and bays, and the clothes were made to be stuffed into a carry-on at a moment’s notice.
All the usual suspects of Euro vacation style, an oeuvre D&G excels at, were on display. There were broderie anglaise shirts, as well as tiny little micro shorts that’d require a serious leg-and-glute routine to properly pull off. There were breezy linen suits for sunset dinners, and a hefty dose of ’70s prints that would make it into even your most discerning friend’s holiday wardrobe. But then, there was something else: pairs upon pairs of party jeans.

We mean real party jeans. Not just selvedge denim that’s beaten into submission enough to boogie. Down the runway went white dungarees with cascading crystals, then a blue straight-leg pair covered in blinged-out brooches. Swirling Y2K turquoise patterns covered gray acid wash, which also came with pinpricks of paint. That specific shade of Zara Larsson-style noughties-ism went onto ripped indigo. Others were decorated with crystal coral and orange sunbursts.
On the runway, they were styled the way a footballer might on a beach trip: with guns-out tank tops and postcard-printed tees; with rosary-style necklaces and beaded chains; with beach bags and perma-tan sunglasses. Down below, the models wore leather sandals and embellished slippers that looked comfortable enough to wear in the line to the club—not that you would need to in this D&G fantasy, because the bouncer is your guy.
