MANILA, Philippines — Former GMA-7 reporter Nico Waje has filed his counter-affidavit in connection with complaints lodged against him by his former colleague, GMA-7 reporter Athena Imperial.
Waje filed the counter-affidavit at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office on Friday. He was accompanied by his wife, Leinel Waje, and his legal counsel, Leo Lalusis.
Lalusis said the case has been submitted for resolution. He declined to disclose the contents of the counter-affidavit to avoid preempting the city prosecutor’s decision on the complaint.
The lawyer said Waje is “very ready to answer any allegations against him,” as reported by GMA News Online.
Lalusis added that Waje maintains his innocence and is prepared to face the complaints.
Imperial filed a complaint against Waje last month for alleged acts of lasciviousness and gender-based sexual harassment.
