After being unveiled as part of Mandela Pictures’ film slate at the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival Market 2025 and Asia TV Forum 2025, Mandela Pictures and Oceanus Media Global (OMG Studios) have released five new stills from their upcoming mystery horror film “Bisikan Desa Gringsing: Whispers of Fatimah”. Directed by Ivander Tedjasukmana, the Indonesia–Singapore–Malaysia co-production is the first Indonesian horror film to use virtual production technology, marking a significant step for Southeast Asian genre cinema.
The film follows Hesti, played by Aghniny Haque, as she searches for her missing father in the cursed Desa Gringsing, where she encounters the restless spirit of Fatimah, portrayed by Fatmah Nahdi. The newly released stills hint at the film’s eerie atmosphere, including images of Hesti arriving at the village, confronting Fatimah, and emotional moments featuring characters played by Surya Saputra and Hesti Putri.
The film will make its international market debut at the Marché du Film during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, where Mandela Pictures and OMG Studios are meeting international distributors. The project is targeting theatrical releases in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey, and Azerbaijan.
