The basics:
- IVI RMA, Conceivable Life Sciences will debut AURA automated IVF system in US in 2027
- AURA uses robotics, physical AI to standardize IVF laboratory processes
- IVI RMA makes strategic investment in Conceivable to advance development of fertility tech
- Partners plan global expansion of AURA across IVI RMA’s international clinic network
The world’s first automation-assisted IVF laboratory system will debut at a U.S. clinic in 2027, following a new collaboration between IVI RMA Global and Conceivable Life Sciences.
According to a July announcement from the partners, global fertility care leader IVI RMA will introduce the AURA platform. The rollout will mark the first major fertility network to implement the tech from Conceivable. That company uses robotics and physical AI application in IVF, or in vitro fertilization, clinical settings.
The partners say AURA will help shift the sector toward more precise, consistent and scalable fertility healthcare for patients domestically, as well as worldwide. Using robotic standardization, AURA seeks to improve the laboratory environment in service of embryo quality.
As part of the agreement, IVI RMA also made a strategic investment to Conceivable to support additional development. A spokesperson for that company did not immediately respond to an inquiry regarding the value or additional terms of the investment. NJBIZ also inquired as to the potential location of the first AURA introduction due in the U.S.
The future of reproductive medicine
Conceivable co-founder and CEO Alan Murray characterized the partnership with IVI RMA as a defining moment for reproductive medicine.
According to Conceivable, AURA is the first automation-assisted robotic IVF laboratory platform designed to work with embryologists rather than replace them. The system helps to perform hundreds of manual steps with machine precision inside a live clinical environment. Ongoing pilot studies have treated more than 100 patients with more than 1,000 eggs processed. The partners also said the work has achieved live births, but did not disclose how many.
IVI RMA Global Executive Chairman Antonio Pellicer said the partnership demonstrates how advanced technology and clinicians can complement each other.
“Throughout our history, IVI RMA has helped define the future of reproductive medicine. This collaboration is another step forward in our mission to bring the most promising innovations to patients and continue raising the standard of fertility care worldwide,” added Pellicer, who will also serve as a member of Conceivable’s board.

IVI RMA North America CEO Lynn Mason also touched on how emerging areas can help expand access and unlock new possibilities. “By supporting technologies designed to standardize and optimize key steps in the IVF journey, IVI RMA is advancing solutions that have the potential to reduce variability, enhance quality control, and ultimately improve patient outcomes,” she said.
The fertility services market is expected to hit $70.3 billion in 2030, boosted by compound annual growth rate of 7.5% from 2024 leading up to that point, according to Grand View Research. CAGR drivers include growing awareness of IVF, increasing adoption of assisted reproductive technology (ARTs), rising global infertility rates, along with the diversity and availability of available treatment options.
Following the U.S. introduction, IVI RMA and Conceivable say they plan to expand the AURA platform across the former’s network in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. IVI RMA has a presence in more than 15 countries with over 200 clinics worldwide. It also boasts a broad network of research and training centers. VI RMA has its North American headquarters in Basking Ridge.
IVI RMA’s work with Conceivable marks its latest efforts to expand access to fertility care. In March, it teamed up with Costco to boost reach and affordability.
