At the end of 2023, I wrote a post titled The 4 Best Luxury Purchases I Made This Year, paying homage not just to my favorite items I purchased that year, but to the ones that got the most love.
While it’s the nature of the business to stay up to date on the latest and greatest new releases—what I’m eyeing and what I’m buying—it’s also fun to give some love to our tried-and-true favorites every now and again. The items we’ve bought, tested, and truly love!
You guys have expressed how much you like these types of posts, and today I’m back again because one of my favorite pairs of shoes just dropped in a sandal version perfect for summer. There’s no time like the present to write a love letter to my favorite Loewe shoes!
A Second Look at the Loewe Pebble Soft Mules
Back in the fall, we shared a close look at the Loewe Flamenco Purse Tote with you all. The editorial was shot during my time in Paris, and we worked with the Loewe team to pull samples to shoot a full look. The look included the Pebble Soft Mules, and I was immediately obsessed.
Everything about the shoes felt like me, from the ballet-inspired silhouette to the low kitten heel and the gold pebble detailing; it was love at first look.
Then, after a couple of hours spent running around Paris to nail the shots, I was genuinely shocked by how easy they were to wear. The nappa lambskin leather is just as described—incredibly soft, and the wide toe box makes the shoe extremely comfortable. Unlike other mules, they are secure on your feet and don’t slide off.
I have the unfortunate diagnosis of having the feet of someone 30 years older than my actual age, thanks to years of ballet, running, and two foot surgeries, so buying a designer shoe is always a toss-up.
To spend upwards of $1,000 on something that might be incredibly uncomfortable is a risk I’m not often willing to take, but my test run confirmed these would be worth it.
The Return of the Pebble: Now in Sandal Form
Months later, I finally pulled the trigger on the Loewe Pebble Soft Mules in the beige color called dough, and though it was still pretty chilly when I bought them, I’ve already worn them a bunch of times while out and about in the city.
I’ve done plenty of walking in them, too, and the wear I’ve gotten out of them has already led me to consider buying the black pair as well.
Then, Loewe dropped its Paula’s Ibiza collection for summer 2026, and it was game over for me when I scrolled through the full collection and spotted a sandal version of my beloved new shoe—first in black and then in gold.
While I haven’t tried them on yet, they are likely just as comfortable and easy to wear, and they truly feel like the perfect summer shoe!
