MANILA, Philippines — Actress Kathryn Bernardo is gearing up for her first television show in four years with “Someone, Someday” alongside James Reid, Dimples Romana, and Maja Salvador.
ABS-CBN and Dreamscape Entertainment released the first official teaser for the show, confirming a July 27 premiere.
The trailer teases Kathryn’s character as the “best ate, best boss, and best friend,” the latter towards James’ character named Jordan.
Kathryn plays the chief executive officer of dating app Lovelist. As a young female CEO, she aspires for her venture to be a successful one so she could help ensure not only her future but also of her younger brother Oliver, played by “Goin’ Bulilit” cast member Migs Casimiro.
More Kathryn and James, or KathReid, moments are also revealed, including a playful scene between Kathryn and James’ characters as the former is bedridden with a fever. There are also some light bonding moments of James pinching her cheeks and of him teasing his best friend finding her “The One.”
Maja’s mysterious character is further explored, with her entrance suggesting a dark turn with the change in music. She tells Kathryn that she has long been a fan and is willing to extend a helping hand in whatever means possible.
Things go sideways though as Kathryn’s character makes friends with someone looking for revenge, which may unravel her hopes of finding “someone, someday” as the title suggests.
“Iba ang barumbado sa marunong ipagtanggol ang sarili,” the lead character says in one scene, and in another adds, “Ang pagmamahal ay ibibigay lang natin sa tamang tao.”
Completing the cast are Rowell Santiago, Rita Avila, Daniela Stranner, and McCoy De Leon.
Kathryn’s last television series — aside from the seventh season of “Pilipinas Got Talent” where she was a judge — was 2022’s “2 Good 2 Be True” opposite ex Daniel Padilla.
Apart from that, the actress has since starred in the movies “A Very Good Girl” and “Hello, Love, Again,” the latter currently the highest grossing Filipino film of all time. — Video from ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel
