New Jersey-born hot chicken concept Namkeen is launching its 10th restaurant.
The fast-casual brand is set to open July 18 at 540 Milltown Road in North Brunswick. The store will offer dine-in, takeout and online ordering.
Husband-wife team Usman Chaudhry and Amena Chaudhri founded Namkeen six years ago in Chatham. The brand is known for fusing Nashville hot chicken with bold Pakistani flavors.
Its signature items include chicken tikka mac & cheese, Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, and a unique twist on chicken & waffles. Namkeen cooks up the dish with hot fried chicken and jalapeno and cheddar Belgian waffles. The menu also features loaded fries, smashburgers, sandwiches, grilled cheese, wings, tenders and house-made sauces.
Besides local restaurants in Chatham, Metuchen, Union, Parsippany and Red Bank, Namkeen has two spots in New York, one in Georgia and one in Canada.
Through a franchising program created in 2025, the brand seeks to expand beyond the original owner-operated locations. After opening its first franchise location earlier this year in Union, Namkeen expects to add nine more units across five states this year.

‘An incredible milestone’
Commenting on the upcoming launch, Usman Chaudhry said, “Opening our 10th location is an incredible milestone for our team.”

To celebrate the July 18 grand opening, Namkeen said it will give away Nashville hot chicken sandwiches to the first 100 customers starting at noon.
In North Brunswick, Namkeen occupies a 2,795-square-foot space at Brunswick Shopping Center. Fellow tenants include Sherwin Williams, Lidl, Ace Pickleball, H&R Block, LA Fitness, Tropical Smoothie Café, Dollar Tree, Rita’s Italian Ice, McDonald’s and Dogtopia.
