Nana Eikura and Eiji Akaso are cast in TV Asahi drama series “Ani Imouto.” For Nana Eikura, she takes on the lead role in a drama series for the first time in 12 years. The romance-suspense original screenplay is written by Noriko Yoshida (“Destiny“). In “Ani Imouto,” Nana Eikura will play a doctor named Nao Haruki. Eiji Akaso will play a young man named Shuji Sonoda. He is the older brother of a patient cared for by Nao Haruki and they also become interested in each other.
“Ani Imouto” will air in a new TV Asahi Saturday 10 PM time slot this October.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Nao Haruki (Nana Eikura) works as a general internist at a hospital in a provincial port city. She achieved her dream of becoming a doctor 3 years ago, but her path to becoming a doctor was delayed by trouble caused by her older brother. Now, the reality of her dream job, has left her physically and emotionally exhausted due to her workload.
One day, she is assigned to care for a young girl named Eri. She is suffering from a serious disease. Eri has an older brother, Shuji Sonoda (Eiji Akaso), who works hard at a shipyard to support her. Moved by Shuji Sonoda’s devotion to his younger sister Eri, Nao Haruki explores various treatment options in a desperate bid to save Eri. Meanwhile, Nao Haruki and Shuji Sonoda’s relationship develops romantically, but an incident brings an end to their romance. 3 years later, in Tokyo, they unexpectedly reunite at a hospital where Nao Haruki works.
