The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank’s (AIIB) 12th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, on July 14-15, 2027, decided by the Board of Governors during AIIB’s 11th Annual Meeting in Doha, Qatar.
H.E. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Chair of the AIIB Board of Governors for 2026, AIIB Governor and Minister of Finance of Qatar, handed the gavel to H.E. Mikayil Jabbarov, AIIB Governor and Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, in a ceremonial transfer to the host of the 2027 AIIB Annual Meeting.
“I would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to the Government and people of the State of Qatar for their exceptional hospitality, and unfailing support throughout this Annual Meeting. As a Founding Member of the Bank, Qatar has been an important and trusted partner since AIIB’s establishment.” AIIB President Zou Jiayi said. “We look forward to working closely with Azerbaijan as it prepares to host the 2027 Annual Meeting. As a Founding Member of AIIB, Azerbaijan has consistently been a steadfast and highly valued partner in advancing the Bank’s mission.”
Jabbarov said: “Azerbaijan is honored to host AIIB’s 12th Annual Meeting in 2027 and looks forward to welcoming AIIB members and partners to Baku. As a country connecting regions and supporting economic cooperation, Azerbaijan is committed to advancing sustainable growth, innovation and regional connectivity. The Annual Meeting will provide an important platform to exchange ideas and strengthen collaboration on the future of infrastructure development.”
Dignitaries also expressed appreciation to the people and Government of Qatar for hosting the 2026 AIIB Annual Meeting.
