For more than a dozen years, ENR has conducted its Global Best Projects competition by inviting project teams from around the world to submit entries in a variety of sectors. These projects are then reviewed by industry veterans to identify the teams behind outstanding design and construction efforts of the past year.
This year, the judges examined and analyzed the safety performance, innovations, teamwork and excellence of 111 submissions, one of the highest number that the contest has seen in a given year.
Winners this year include 32 projects located in 21 countries on every continent except Antarctica. These outstanding examples show the risks, rewards and hurdles overcome when designing and building internationally. All of the selected projects will be spotlighted in more detail in the Dec. 14 issue of ENR. In addition, that special issue will name which of the winners will earn the coveted title of Global Project of the Year.
None of the entries could be considered for recognition if they had any construction-related fatalities, and work had to be completed between January 2025 and May 2026.
The panel of judges had discretion to designate top selections as Global Best Projects winners in a variety of categories, and could choose Award of Merit winners as warranted. Learn more about the judges in the Dec. 14 issue of ENR.
