Preston Ferro’s hat trick powered top-seeded Don Bosco Prep, No. 2 in the NJ.com Top 20, to a 7-1 victory over fourth-seeded and No. 7 Ridgewood in the Bergen County Tournament semifinals at Ice Vault Arena in Wayne.
Ryan Murphy had a goal and two assists for Don Bosco Prep (12-2-1), which erupted for four goals in the third period to put the game well out of reach.
Jack Foye had three assists and Marc Ruggere added two in the win. Leo McCullough, Jack Ozder and Chris Conklin each scored a goal. Alex Annunziato made 23 saves and Kevin Karbiner had two.
Don Bosco Prep will play second-seeded and No. 3 St. Joseph (Mont.) in the final on Thursday.
AJ LoSauro scored the lone goal for Ridgewood (12-2).
