The New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Presented by the New York Asian Film Foundation and Film at Lincoln Center, the festival runs from July 10–26 across five New York venues, including Film at Lincoln Center, SVA Theatre, IFC Center, Anthology Film Archives, and the Korean Cultural Center New York. Since its launch 25 years ago showcasing films from Hong Kong, Korea, and Japan, NYAFF has grown into North America’s leading festival dedicated to Asian cinema.
Opening Night on July 10 at Film at Lincoln Center will feature the North American premiere of Colony, the latest thriller from Yeon Sang-ho. Fresh from its world premiere in Cannes’ Midnight Screenings section, the film follows residents trapped in a Seoul high-rise as a deadly virus spreads. Starring Jun Ji-hyun, Ji Chang-wook, Koo Kyo-hwan, and Shin Hyun-been, the film will be introduced in person by Yeon Sang-ho ahead of its August theatrical release.
