Loffreno, Point Pleasant Beach hold off Henry Hudson late - Girls basketball recap

Elliana Loffreno led Point Pleasant Beach with 17 points in its 49-42 victory over Henry Hudson in Highlands.

Point Pleasant Beach got out to a quick 12-2 lead after one quarter before Henry Hudson outscored them 11-5 in the second, shrinking the Garnet Gulls’ lead to 17-13 at halftime.

Point Pleasant Beach outscored Henry Hudson 21-13 in the third quarter and held on in the fourth despite being outscored 15-11.

Bridget Kane contributed 11 points for Point Pleasant Beach and Johanna Stabile added nine.

Molly Hensle led Henry Hudson (6-12) with 15 points.

Point Pleasant Beach (3-17) snapped its two-game losing streak and will host Toms River North on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
