The Trojans (19-5, 12-1 Big Ten) secured the program’s first-ever Big Ten regular season championship with the win over the Hoosiers, marking the first conference regular season title for the program since 2015 (12th in program history). With the win, USC also completed a perfect home regular season campaign, going undefeated at Marks Stadium for the first time since the 2014-15 season.
USC opened the match by battling to claim the doubles point. The Trojans struck first on court two as Emma Charney and Imogen Haddad earned a 6-2 win to set the tone. Indiana responded on court one, but the point came down to court three, where Dani Borruel and Eugenia Zozaya delivered a 7-5 victory to secure the early 1-0 lead.
In singles, USC’s depth once again proved decisive. Freshman Eugenia Zozaya was first off the court, posting a 6-3, 6-2 win on court two to double the Trojan advantage. Krisha Mahendran followed with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 victory on court five, putting USC within one point of the title-clinching win.
Fittingly, it was senior Emma Charney who delivered the clinch on her senior day, earning a 6-1, 6-4 victory on court four to seal the 4-0 sweep.
Several matches went unfinished, including a tight battle on court one between No. 22 Jana Hossam and Indiana’s Alessandra Teodosescu.
With the victory, USC extends its win streak to seven matches and closes the regular season atop the Big Ten standings, securing at least a share of the conference crown and building strong momentum heading into postseason play.
