Pinellas judge rules in favor of SPCA in Waddles case

The SPCA of Tampa Bay won its day in court Wednesday, upsetting about 100 supporters who showed up to get Justice for Waddles.

Pinellas County Court Judge Kathleen Hessinger heard four hours of testimony, then took an hour to give her ruling. Hessinger said the county had not proved that the SPCA neglected the pig.

In the last year, Waddles’ story has gone viral on social media. Millions of supporters from as far away as Australia have sent messages to the pig. He’s inspired T-shirts and TV appearances, petitions and protests, a cryptocurrency coin and video game.
