A suspect has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting in downtown St. Petersburg last month.
Jacob Carreras, 25, was arrested in Hillsborough County on a second-degree murder charge, St. Petersburg police announced Tuesday. Police say Carreras fatally shot 29-year-old Peter-Austin Afentakis shortly before 3 a.m. on May 25 after the two men got into an argument while standing outside in the 100 block of First Avenue North.
The U.S. Marshals Service took Carreras into custody in Hillsborough County, and he was awaiting extradition to Pinellas, police said.
No other information has been released.
