MANILA, Philippines — It’s the weekend again, and here are the concerts and events you might want to check out with friends, family and loved ones.
Free training program for runners
Running enthusiasts who signed up for the upcoming HOKA Midnight Run Asia can opt to join the free training program that combines expert coaching, structured workouts and community support.
Held every Saturday until July 11 at Bayshore Avenue, SM Mall of Asia Complex, the program is designed to support registered HOKA Midnight Run Asia – Manila participants across the 5K, 10K and 21K race categories. Through a series of progressive training sessions, runners gain access to coaching, strength and conditioning exercises, endurance-focused workouts, race-week preparation tips and HOKA shoe trialing experiences.
The program opened with Start Strong, a community-run and HOKA shoe trialing experience that introduced participants to the training journey ahead. Runners built their strength through strength and conditioning exercises specifically designed to improve running performance and reduce the risk of injury last June 27.
The third session, Go the Distance, takes place on July 4 and focuses on endurance training to help participants move more efficiently and confidently over longer distances. The final session on July 11, Race Ready, will provide race-week preparation tips and include Run It Again Manila.
In addition to the weekly training sessions, participants will receive expert-led guidance and exclusive perks and freebies. Those unable to attend the in-person sessions, including runners from outside Metro Manila, will also have access to a curated training plan prepared by Coach Dan to guide their race preparation.
Interested runners may register through the QR code available on HOKA’s official social media pages. Walk-ins will also be accepted.
The HOKA Midnight Run Asia – Manila takes place on July 19 at the SM Mall of Asia Complex.
