Former FoxNews.com senior vice president Ken LaCorte accused his old employer of “journalistic malpractice” for not reporting online about the Kimberly Guilfoyle scandal.
LaCorte claimed the website had done “0 reporting” on the corruption allegations against Guilfoyle, a Fox News alum on the TV side who is now the U.S. ambassador to Greece.
“It’s a conscious choice to ignore a major story that has been reported worldwide by every major news outlet,” LaCorte wrote. “President Trump has spoken about it, as has VP Vance and Marco Rubio. It’s journalistic malpractice. I don’t have knowledge of the details of Fox’s action, yet I doubt that there’s been an order from up top to ignore it. I suspect it’s instead a product of fear and inaction by middle management.”
LaCorte turned to a broader concern for the conservative channel.
“It’s an increasing pattern I’ve seen at the network,” he wrote. “To those of you at Fox with any power ― from Lachlan [Murdoch] on down ― know that things like this only harm the company’s reputation. Not among your enemies, who will hate you no matter what, but among your supporters, like me, who get pained when the hyperbolic attacks turn out to be true.”
Fox News had not replied to a HuffPost request for comment sent hours earlier.
A search of the name “Kimberly Guilfoyle” on the website appeared to confirm LaCorte’s assertion at the time he wrote it. Hours after his X post on Sunday, the network’s digital arm published a story about President Donald Trump possibly firing her.
Guilfoyle is accused of asking a Trump donor to pay her $100,000 credit card bill before her confirmation in exchange for access to the administration. She allegedly promoted the interests of a Greek construction company and allowed its lobbyists to sit it on diplomatic meetings. She also is said to have accepted improper gifts and services.
